About Roberta

Roberta Chiarella founded the brand in 1991 with the idea of creating jewelry that united her passion for artisan-made designs & fashion, while using the only the highest quality materials at an affordable price.

Born & raised in Queens NY, Roberta Chiarella began her design training at an early age beside the drawing table of her father Joseph Chiarella; a successful advertising art director & illustrator. Roberta graduated with a degree in graphic design & communications from Parson's School of Design in New York City. Roberta's early career as an art director, producer & package designer, at Clinique Laboratories/Estee Lauder was broadened in Lancôme/ L'Oréal's Designer Fragrance Division as Creative Director overseeing the Ralph Lauren, Paloma Picasso and Giorgio Armani brands. Later on as Vice President of Creative for YSL where she directed Public Relations, Special Events, In Store Design & Advertising.

A self made artist with a love for fashion - Roberta started making jewelry at home for herself and built the first collection out of clay. After attending a designer’s open call at Henri Bendel’s the historic Fifth Avenue store, Roberta was selected to become part of their coveted group of designers. Her first collection of handmade work was honored in a group exhibition at The American Craft Museum in New York City.

In 2007, Roberta was selected as 1 of only 100 designers worldwide to participate in “UNBRIDALED”, Swarovski’s wedding book and attended the event at the Monnaie de Paris the following year

The line has been featured in InStyle, Real Simple, Marie Claire, Seventeen, The New York Post, Redbook, O: The Oprah Magazine, Brides, Martha Stewart Living, Good Housekeeping, The Today Show, Entertainment Tonight & so many more. Roberta also co hosted her own shows on both QVC & HSN and has been featured guest on The Today Show.

Roberta Chiarella Jewelry was born of passion & love, with the tireless help of my friends & family -I am so grateful to everyone who buys my designs & has supported me throughout this amazing American dream 🙏

Roberta is longtime resident of New York's Upper East Side, where she lives with her husband Brian Philpott and her rescue pups - Bella and Buddy.
